Homemade Face Moisturizer
My homemade face moisurizer is made with a good amount of Kokum Butter added to it to increase skin elasticity. Kokum Butter is often used as a substitute for Cocoa Butter due to its uniform triglyceride composition.
It melts when it comes into contact with the skin.
Kokum Butter is composed of beneficial compounds that help to regenerate skin cells. It is commonly used in skin healing lotions, creams and body butters, as well as homemade hand soaps, cosmetics and toiletries.
No artificial colours or additives, chemicals or unnatural preservatives at all are added to my homemade face moisturizer, providing you with a product you can trust in.
Benefits of Kokum Butter
Kokum Butter is rich in essential fatty acids, which aid in cell oxygenation and make nutrients more readily available for use by skin tissues. Kokum Butter also contains antioxidant vitamin E. Kokum Butter is a non-comodegenic (non pore-clogging) material that aids quick absorption and adds a premium texture to your cream emulsions.
Kokum Butter helps regenerate tired and worn skin cells and supports skin elasticity and general flexibility of the skin wall. It has been used traditionally in India to soften skin and restore elasticity and as a balm for dry, cracked, rough and calloused skin.
Frankincense essential oil has a very woody and spicy scent. It is wonderful for aging skin and helps to heal dry skin. It also helps spur skin cell regeneration, thus smoothing wrinkles.
Myrrh essential oil is also anti-aging and is an intensive skin healer (it works wonders on bed sores!). It smells much more earthy than frankincense but also has a spicy quality.
Another essential oil that I love for skincare is sandalwood essential oil. Its scent is warm and sweet, yet also earthy and woody. It helps calm the skin and heal cuts, and provide hydration for dry skin.
These three oils provide a powerful amount of skin healing, so I knew that I needed to find an equally awesome carrier oil.
I decided to use avocado oil because it is rich in fatty acids. This makes it highly skin penetrating, moisturizing and it promotes skin cell regeneration. When combined with the anti-aging properties of kokum butter and and the protection of beeswax, it makes a fine homemade face moisturizer.
This cream will last for many, many months. That makes this homemade face moisturizer extremely cost effective as well as a great gift!
Two versions of my homemade face moisturizer is available at the moment. Homemade face moisturizer for daily use is very light while my homemade face moisturizer for overnight is a heavier face moisturizer to penetrate deeply while you are resting.
